Trauma-Informed Teacher Training

for Living Yoga Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteer teaching for Living Yoga! All Living Yoga volunteer teachers must attend our 17-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training, regardless of whether or not they are certified yoga instructors. This training combines lecture, group work, and practice teaching to prepare you to teach trauma-informed yoga to the populations that Living Yoga serves.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years consistent yoga experience.

  • Desire to learn how to teach trauma-informed, mindfulness based yoga.

  • Ability to commit to volunteering 1-2 times per month for a minimum of one year. (Consistency and reliability of teachers is critical to our trauma-informed approach.)

Applicants for our teacher training program will be selected based on their commitment to service and social justice, yoga practice and history, related life or professional experience, and availability in relation to our current class opportunities.

Living Yoga is committed to social and racial justice. We highly encourage people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and abilities to apply!

We are currently accepting applications for the March 13-15th, 2020 training.

The trainers are supportive, committed and knowledgeable. I can feel the passion and love they all share for this program. It’s an inspiration. I am so grateful.
