Addressing Trauma through the Biology of Breathing

The breath is the central and most essential tool for any yoga or mindfulness practice. It has the capacity to affect our minds, chemical makeup and nervous system and therefore, our physical and emotional wellbeing.

  • Learn the main muscles and their function in conscious breathing.
  • Become more familiar with how breathing affects chemical stagnancy and supports "detox" in the body and brain.
  • Develop the ability to use down-regulating breath practices for working with trauma, PTSD and heightened/depressed states.

This course will be held at the Living Yoga office, 5100 SW Macadam Ave, Suite 360, Portland, OR 97239

This workshop is open to the public.

Pre-registration is required. There will be a $15 registration fee for Living Yoga volunteers. Cost is $45 for non-volunteers and $30 for partner site/studio members.
