2018 Gala and 20th Year Celebration


We are so excited to celebrate Living Yoga’s 20th year of service in style at our annual gala, Invest in the Human Spirit, on September 22nd at the Tiffany Center!

Living Yoga’s annual gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, raising nearly ⅓ of the organization’s total budget. As such, it is critical to the success and sustainability of our trauma-informed yoga programs, which we offer in 24 partner sites. The event also serves as a reunion for the Living Yoga community, bringing together those who have been engaged with Living Yoga for decades and those who are more recent volunteers, donors, students, and partner stakeholders.

After reviewing the results of a mass survey in January, and collecting feedback from a focus group of gala attendees, we are thrilled to reveal a new event format that we hope will satisfy our community’s craving for both meaning and connection, be accessible to a wide range of supporters, and raise the crucial funds needed to support our work.  

This year’s event will include two parts:

1. Seated Dinner and Panel Discussion: The first portion of the evening will include a cocktail hour and exclusive sneak peek at the auction items. Following the cocktail hour, we’ll take our seats for a delicious dinner catered by Rafati’s Catering (vegan, vegetarian, meat, and gluten free options!), and have plenty of time during dinner to visit with other guests before the panel discussion begins.

The panel will feature experts on trauma and yoga, as well as a Living Yoga volunteer, past student, and a partner site representative, who will discuss why yoga is such a powerful treatment tool for trauma, as well as what makes Living Yoga’s unique volunteer model so successful. After the panel, we’ll get to hear from one Living Yoga student and show our support at the paddle raise!

Tickets to the Dinner and Panel Discussion cost $125 dollars, and also include entry to the Auction and After Party. Full and half tables are available for groups.

2. Auction and After Party: The auction and after party will feature an extensive silent action with items like gift cards to your favorite stores, restaurants, cafes, and self care experiences, yoga and outdoor gear, date nights, and more. Think of this as your opportunity to stock up on all the things you buy anyways throughout the year, or indulging in a special treat, with the knowledge that those dollars go to support Living Yoga!

This portion of the event will also feature a wine wall and a live auction that will include items like international vacations, a delux date night package, and one of a kind Portland-based experiences. You can treat yourself and invest in Living Yoga at the same time.

There will be drinks and appetizers available (two free drink tickets/attendee), DJ and dancing, and a group toast to our 20 Years at the end of the event.

Tickets for the Auction and After Party are $75.
